Frequently asked questions
What is a drop?
A photo or a video of up to 15 seconds, with a title that starts with "Rate my…": rate my dish, my outfit, my setup. Your followers rate it from 0 to 10, with a short note if they like, and you watch the average live.
Why 24 hours?
To keep the moment alive: voting is open for 24 hours, not a minute more, and everyone votes in the same window. Then voting closes and the drop stays on your profile with its final score until you delete it. Posting a drop every day grows your streak.
Private or public account: what's the difference?
Your account is private by default: you approve each follower, and only they can see and rate your drops. When public, anyone can follow you without approval, see your drops and, depending on your settings, rate them; your public drops can appear in Explore. You can change this in Me > Settings > Privacy. Either way, your first name, username, photo and bio remain visible.
Who sees my rating?
The drop's author sees your rating, your short note and your username. Other voters only see the average, and only if the author allows it and after they have rated themselves. Once voting has closed, people who can see the drop can see its ratings. You rate a drop once, in good faith.
How do I report a drop, an account or a comment?
Tap "…" on the drop, profile or comment, then Report and choose a reason. It's anonymous: the person does not know who reported them. The team reviews every report within 24 hours and removes anything that breaks the rules. If you are in immediate danger, call 112 (or 17 in France); in France, 3018 offers free support to victims of online harassment.
How do I block someone?
On their profile, tap "…" then Block. That person can no longer see your profile or your drops, follow you or interact with you, and they are not notified. You can find and unblock accounts in Me > Settings > Blocked accounts. You can also mute an account, restrict its comments or filter words under your drops.
How do I get verified?
Go to Me > Settings > Verification. The screen shows the conditions (public account, complete profile, minimum number of followers and drops) and your progress. Once you meet them, send your request: the team reviews it and replies in the app. Verification is free and cannot be bought.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Me > Settings > Account > Delete my account. Your account is hidden right away and erased within 30 days; if you change your mind, just sign in again before the period ends. All the details are on the Delete my account page.
Which languages is Dixit available in?
French, English and Spanish. The app follows your phone's language; you can change it in Me > Settings > Account > Language. Notifications arrive in your account's language.
Is Dixit free?
Yes, completely: no subscription, no purchases, no ads.
Does my photo reveal where I am?
No. Photo and video metadata, including GPS location, is removed on upload. Still, be careful about what appears in the picture (an address, a license plate, a school uniform).
I'm not getting notifications
Check that notifications are allowed for Dixit in your phone's settings, then in Me > Settings > Notifications. Quiet hours block notifications during the chosen period (11 pm to 8 am by default).
Your data
You can download all your data from Me > Settings > Account > Download my data. For any other right (rectification, objection, erasure), write to hello@dixit-app.com. The details are in the privacy policy.
